Thread Vein Removal / Rosacea

What is Rosacea?

Rosacea is a common skin disorder characterised by redness and swelling of the face. Symptoms can often vary from person to person, but not everyone will experience all of the possible symptoms.

Symptoms of Rosacea include:

  • flushing
  • persistent redness
  • papules and pustules
  • visible blood vessels

What is a Thread Vein?

A Thread Vein is a small visible blood vessel near the surface of the skin. It is often quite unsightly and can have either a red or bluish colour. It can appear individually or in a cluster which are sometimes referred to as Spider Veins. The most common places for them to appear is on and around the nose and cheek area.

How can they be treated?

Facial Thread Veins can safely and effectively be treated by using Intense Pulsed Light (IPL). The light coagulates the red blood cells, allowing the body to metabolise them over the next two to three weeks until they disappear back into the body. For clients that are not suitable for IPL other treatments such as ACP (Advanced Cosmetic Procedure) are available.

How many treatments will I need?

The number of treatments can vary from one person to another but generally 1-4 sessions are necessary. Most effective results are seen on light skins, as there is a more pronounced contrast between the vessel and the skin.

Does it hurt?

The sensation is similar to that of a warm rubber band snapping on the skin, but is completely tolerable and extremely fast.
