A new and exciting solution for problem areas of localised fat!

What is AQUALYX®?

AQUALYX® is an injectable fat dissolving solution containing a secondary deoxycholan-acid; a bile acid which is made in the liver and helps the digestion of fat.

How does it work?

It is intended for patients with localised adipose tissue not responding to diet or exercise.  AQUALYX® is injected directly into the subcutaneous tissue using a thin, flexible cannula.   Within the following weeks the treated fat cells are gradually resolved and the metabolism in the treated area is increased.

Which areas of the body can be treated?

AQUALYX® can be administered over the entire body, e.g. chin, stomach, hips, saddle bags, thighs, stomach, knees, buffalo humps, etc.

How many treatments are required?

On average 3-5 sessions will be required; approximately 3-4 weeks apart.  The number of treatments vary according to the volume of the fat deposit being treated, the individual’s response to the treatment and their desired achievement.

What are the side effects?

Minimal side effects have been reported globally since its introduction, but patients can expect a little skin irritation, bruising and swelling, which will ease after a few days.

When is treatment with Aqualyx® not recommended?

AQUALYX® is not recommended when the patient is suffering from acute or chronic skin disease in the affected area. For safety reasons all patients with a medical history including anaphylactic reactions, severe allergies, severe organic or physical illnesses, autoimmune diseases or diabetes, as well as woman who are pregnant or breast feeding are excluded from any treatment with AQUALYX®. Treatment is not advised for patients under the age of 18 or over 60.
